• The Matirns (pronounced "Mat-erns") are a band from Sammamish, WA. Formed in 2007 while they were seniors in high school, they cut one demo and played a few shows before splitting up to attend college. Now they're back for the summer and ready to start gigging again.
  
  The name comes from when Will was around 7 years old, and first learned about MLK Jr. He was so moved he started a tribute band called The Martins. However, there was an unfortunate typo on the promo fliers, and they all said "The Matirns". What was first a placeholder name has now become permanent, much to Will's chagrin.
